Five buyer questions, asked three times each, across five assistants in en-US. The score is the average across all five, now that every one runs with web search on.

Google AI is a single web capture of the AI Overview for 6 of the prompts, not the full set, so treat its column as directional. Every other assistant runs the full prompt set once each.

The assistants disagree

ChatGPT leads with YNAB and Monarch. Claude puts PocketGuard and EveryDollar on top and mentions YNAB less, though when it does, it lists it first. Same questions, different shelf. There is no single AI answer to optimise for.

A dead app, and the one place that gets it right

Mint shut down in 2024. The chat assistants still name it, most of all Gemini. Google's AI Overviews, the most search-grounded surface, never recommend it. Same company, different surface, opposite result. More in the analysis.
